Halloween might traditionally be dedicated to telling ghost stories and dressing up in scary costumes, but for some people, being scared is not fun! Especially for families with small children, getting too spooky just simply isn’t an option. If you or someone you know is a bit of a scaredy-cat, there are still plenty of fun options for this Halloween! Keep reading to see some of the best not-so-scary activities offered this October. 

 

The Hollow at Phantom Lake – Mukwonago (Weekends in October) 

This Halloween display is not one to miss! Take a walk through Phantom Lake and enjoy 3,000 beautifully hand-carved pumpkins. With different displays featured throughout your path, there will be plenty of different worlds for you to enjoy. Make sure you have on your tennis shoes, as The Hollow  will require a lot of walking! 

 

The Hill Has Eyes Not-So-Scary Halloween Party – Franklin (Sundays in October)

The perfect event for kids of all ages! Take a peek behind the scenes of this haunted attraction as actors from The Hill Has Eyes take you on a tour of their four different haunts. Kids get to participate in a Trick-or-Treat along the way and are encouraged to dress up. Are you looking to double the fun? End the night with a family-friendly drive-in movie when you purchase the Sunday Family Bundle! A different movie will be shown weekly at this event, so visit the website to see what is playing each weekend. 

 

Spooky Sussex – Sussex (October 21st)

If you’re looking for a family-friendly event specifically geared towards small children, this is the event for you! This event, located in the Village Park, boasts a petting zoo, bonfire, corn maze and more, all geared towards the littlest Halloween enthusiast in your life. Pre-register for this event to participate in exclusive events, but hurry! Space is limited, and you won’t want to miss any of these amazing events! Spooky Sussex is held rain or shine, so be prepared to dress for whatever the weather holds.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Craft & Vendor Fair – Oconomowoc (October 22nd)

Located at Okauchee Lions park, this free event is a great photo and trick-or-treat opportunity! Created by “Princess My Party Ltd,” your children will be able to meet Snow White, Aurora, the Evil Queen and Maleficent, as well as receive candy from all the different vendors that will be at this fair. Take some time to shop, meet characters and enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun at the Not-So-Scary Halloween Craft & Vendor Fair!

No matter the scare tolerance, Halloween should be enjoyed by everyone! Events will be going on through the entire month of October, so there will be plenty of time to check them all out. Happy Haunting!
